Inside Out Therapy is primarily a paediatric Speech and Language Therapy practice although we also offer support for young adults.

We offer tailored Speech and Language Therapy support for a wide range of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN):

  • Attention and listening difficulty

  • Poor understanding of language

  • Late talkers

  • Limited vocabulary

  • Word finding difficulty (that ‘it’s on the tip of my tongue’ feeling!)

  • Difficulty structuring words and sentences (spoken grammar)

  • Higher level language difficulty (e.g. with inference, prediction, figurative language)

  • Poor auditory memory

  • Delayed or disordered speech sound production (including verbal dyspraxia)

  • Stammering (also called ‘stuttering’ or ‘dysfluency’)

  • Selective mutism

  • Poor phonological awareness

  • Social communication / interaction difficulty

Many of the children we see are diagnosed with the following conditions, with which we have experience:

  • Temporary hearing loss (e.g. caused by glue ear)

  • Permanent hearing loss (mild-profound)

  • Auditory Processing Disorder (APD / CAPD)

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Specific Learning Difficulty, including Dyslexia and Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder (ADD/ADHD)
